Be the Voice:

Before I start this one let me say that all these postings are simply my thoughts and opinion and should be read as such. I am not calling moms out who don't do what I do. We are all unique and God has given us the children that He has given us because we are the best mommy for them. So take each of these with a grain of salt.

When I got pregnant with my first I had no clue what I was doing. Sure, I had babysat and held a baby before but I had never interviewed a pediatrician, learned the number/weight sizing on the diapers, knew the difference between this and that. Bless my first born. He got the mom who was trying but had no clue. I might not have had a clue but I learned quickly that I have to be the voice for my unborn son.

From the start of pregnancy I was hit with many things. One time at work I was parked where I normally do and then informed they were going to be painting in this area for a month. I know it is outside and I know some paint is fine but ya know what I was not taking the chance. I also know there is still a lot we do not know about the human body and I was going to protect my son so I asked to park somewhere else and you know what I was granted it. I say all this to say do not be afraid to say no, or ask. You are the mom from the moment you become pregnant. You make the calls on your child's life ( with the guidance from the Lord). So do not be afraid to speak up.

I say this to new moms the most. When you are in the hospital giving birth and after care remember you are the mom. I had a lot of request for when my first and second were born and I asked and told each nurse the choice I was making. I asked questions if they said they needed to take the baby somewhere or do something. Be assertive. You know your child best and you are the voice. Do not be afraid to use it. God gave you that precious little one and you have the responsibility to care for them as best you can. Ask all the questions and make all the rules you want. You are the mama!

Parenting in 2020:

Hi Everyone! I am a momma to two little ones, ages 7 months and 2.5 years. I am one of the many parents, trying to navigate the crazy of this year 2020. I have struggled with it all. From day one in March when we were told to leave work and go remotely I have struggled with what does that look like as a mom.

I was blessed to have my family help with watching my babies and having a nanny part time but all this came to a halt. We didn't let our nanny come anymore and we waited over 2 weeks to see family again. No on knew how to handle this virus. I went from a full time working mom to a full time working mom with two little ones in the house all day. If you are a parent you know what is entitled to keep kiddos feed, and happy and that is the bare essentials.  My son is 2.5. He needs attention. He wants to be played with and take walks and play outside. In one day all of this world changed and we have been trying every sense to find a new normal as a parent.

I just wanted to encourage all moms and dads to, to keep going. As the Fall semester approaches and some children go to school and some do not remember your little on is watching you and you are their biggest fan during this time. Remember to enjoy this time. When the days are long and seem like they wont end remember someone wishes they could have your life and wishes they could have babies to love. You are strong mama and you were created to do all things with the strength of Jesus.

Give your frustration, tired heart and exhausted body to Him. He will renew you and you can be strong for your little

I will post more on this throughout the weeks/months and look forward to sharing the good and hard days of parenting.
